Overview
Purging pushes inert gas, usually nitrogen, through a pipeline or tank to drive out air, moisture and leftover product. It protects product quality, prevents corrosion inside the line, and removes the risk of a flammable mixture forming. Purging is done before commissioning a new system, after maintenance, and before a line or tank changes to a different product.
